What is the minimum auto coverage I have to carry in Georgia?
The minimum that the State of Georgia requires you to carry is bodily injury coverage of 25,000 per person with a maximum of 50,000 per accident(if more than 1 person is in the car) and then 25,000 for property damage. This coverage is for your liability if you hit someone else. While this is the minimum coverage if your involved in a major accident this may not be enough coverage as medical expenses can very qiuckly run much more than 25,000 as well as there are many cars today that are much more than 25,000. You can be held personally responsible for amounts over the coverage that you chose to have.
